POPS reaches out

The Rappahannock POPS Orchestra held a music residency program in conjunction with Locust Grove Middle School and Prospect Height Middle School in Orange County, VA.  Here a few images from the rehearsals.

Kite festival

A few images from the 25th annual "Go Fly a Kite Day" held at Litchfield Farm in King George, VA  on Saturday, March 17, 2012. 

I also used a smaller camera and secured it to a kite owned by Harold Ames of King George for a different perspective. Thanks for the lift Harold.

MWU - The run is over

 

Mary Washington University ended it's previously undefeated season and possible trip to the NCAA Final Four by being eliminated by George Fox University on Saturday night.

NCAA women's basketball tournament - Bowdoin College

 

More women's NCAA division III action.  I covered the game for The Portland Herald Press.

It was a tough game for Bowdoin College as they were eliminated during the "Sweet Sixteen" round of the tournament by George Fox University by the score of 71-55.

Mel Curry

I had the pleasure of shooting Mel Curry this week. She was an absolute ray of sunshine in both her attitude and willingness to stay competitive throughout her adversities. Mel lost the lower part of her leg due to an illness and she now competes in Wheelchair Tennis.
